Rob Forman (Twitter, LinkedIn) is the President and COO of SalesLoft. But before that, he founded a company called HireIQ, which is still in business today. Why isn’t Rob still with HireIQ? The short answer is because, despite the fact that he had built it himself, Rob did not feel aligned with the company, its employees or its mission. He failed as a leader because he wasn’t able to build a company culture that worked for him.

After that failure, it would have been easy for Rob to put his head down and go work for some other company somewhere else. Instead, he threw his hat into the startup ring again, this time with the lessons he learned from his past mistakes leading him toward a brighter and more fulfilling future.
