Editor Speaks Out On Spiritual Gifts

Question:  Are you Charismatic?  My pastor says all gifts of I Corinthians, chapter 12-14 were removed from the church when the Bible was completed about 100 A.D.  He says “The perfect: of I Corinthians, chapter 13 verse 10 proves this."  Is this true?

Response:  We are not part of any charismatic ecumenical movement, and we disagree with the “self-esteem,” “word-faith,” “health & wealth,” and other heretical teachings such as praying to the virgin Mary (the Queen of Heaven). We also admit that many "gifts" are faked or abused!

We are non-denominational Christians.  Your pastor is incorrect.  The gifts have never been withdrawn from the church.  The explanation he gives is ignorant and ridiculous on its face.  Correct hermeneutics requires him to insert “completion of the Bible” in I Corinthians chapter 13 verse 10 and 12.  Try this and see what it says.

For an absolute complete refutation, by a Greek and English word study on this verse, see advertised book on our book list “Speaking In Other Tongues-A Scholarly Defense  (840 page edition).

I will state that most of the "miraculous" claims by many American "prophets" are countefeit gifts or just lies, but that is beside the point. All of the following scholars agree with my interpretation of I Cor. 13:10. There is no verse in the Bible teaching supernatural gifts have ceased.
