The DaVinci Code

(Fact or Fiction?)

We have two books refuting the DaVinci Code: Breaking the DaVinci Code for $20.00 and The Truth Behind the DaVinci Code for $9.00. The DaVinci Code sells because sex sells, conspiracy books sell, books about "another Jesus" sell. The popularity of the DaVinci Code shows the rebellion and/or ignorance of so called "Christian America." In 1973 Edwin Yamauchi wrote a book called Pre-Christian Gnosticism? published by the Christian publisher Baker House. It shows, for one example, the Gospel of Thomas is nothing to trust in. Instead of reading "fluff" Christian books - why not learn something from good Christian books.

"Writings that have been published by heretics under the names of the apostles, on the pretense that they comprise the gospels of Peter and Thomas and Mathias or even some others besides these, or the Acts of Andrew and of John and of the other apostles. Not a single one of the ecclesiastical writers down through the years has thought any of these worth mentioning. Moreover, the type of language is different from apostolic usage and the thought and purpose of these writings is totally at odds with true orthodoxy, showing clearly that they are the work of heretics. For this reason, then, these must not even be classified among the spurious writings but instead shunned as totally absurd and ungodly." Eusebius, Ecclesiastical History (early 4th Century) 3.25.1-7 quoted in The Canon Debate (Hendrickson Publisher) The Canon Debate is available from us for a $49.00 donation. We pay shipping costs.

The lost world runs to the Gospels of Philip, Thomas, Mary Magdalene, etc. hoping to find some "loophole" to escape the truth of the Bible. "Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" is the only way to find God--no matter what heretics, ancient or modern, may tell you.

I have a book in my library published in 1984 titled "The Other Bible" which includes the "Nag Hammadi Library". Send $2.00 to cover the postage and I will copy the "Gospel of Thomas" and mail it to you. Or go to a book store and pay $10-16 for the book. It is one of hundreds of false gospels as anyone who knows the real Bible can plainly see. It looks like what a 10 year old would copy and embellish from the four true gospels.
